I always thought it odd that
adults had favourite colours
Like it was only the domain of children.
Kids say it with pride:
My favourite colour is…
Like they discovered it

I had to admit that I had
a favourite colour. Colours in fact.

I'm obsessed with Prussian Blue
and the decedent Indian Yellow -
both watercolour paints that I cherish.
