SHOP LOVE KNOTS

Each NameKnot is made by hand one at a time. First I choose an existing knot or draw a brand new one. Then I use my lightbox to transfer the knot lines to a clean sheet of drawing paper with a pencil. Next I fit the letters to the knot. Clean it up. Trim my watercolor paper. Back to the lightbox to add the finish pencil line with letters to the watercolour paper. Then ink the knot and letter lines in black Indian ink. Add the webbing [dirt in the corners] - and erase the pencil. Finally onto adding colour.

Each individually created LoveKnot is unique using the finest quality black Indian ink and watercolour paints on premium watercolour paper. Each LoveKnot/JoyKnot takes two days to complete.

Are there other options besides JoyKnots (1 name) and LoveKnots (2 names)?
Certainly! We can create a knot for you with a family surname [FamilyKnots], family members [PrideKnots], a friend group [FriendsKnots], initials (for a person or a couple) [InitialsKnots]. Basically if you can think of it - I can create it. Just describe what you’re looking for under “special requests”. We will nail down specifics with you before starting.
Can I choose the colours for my knot?
Yes - of course or you can leave it with me. LoveKnots utilize 3-5 colours. JoyKnots 2-3 colours. Let me know if there’s a specific knot you’ve seen that you want to base the colours for your unique custom handmade NameKnot.
Can I choose the knot for my Loveknot or JoyKnot?
Absolutely! Just let me know which knot from my site that you like. Alternately you can let me choose what I think might work better with your chosen name.
Will I see rough sketches before I receive my finished piece?
No. I do not provide rough sketches along the way. This allows me to do my best work. But I will be sure to adhere to your own preferences.
How long will my order take to complete?
You should allow 2-3 weeks plus shipping. 5 Days Rush Orders may be avilable for a 20% surcharge.
What sizes are LoveKnots & JoyKnots?
The smallest JoyKnots [1 name] starts off at 5x7 upward - LoveKnots [2 names] start off at 6x6 then 6x8, 8x8, 10x10 or 12x12. Bigger if you need. JoyKnots and LoveKnots both work well square as well as in landscape or portrait. We will send an explanatory pdf to narrow it down.
I love one JoyKnot with the name I am looking for: can I recreate a JoyKnot that is in the gallery?
Yes - I can recreate most of the JoyKnots displayed. They would be painted using a different colour scheme as each JoyKnot should be unique. Plus I can offer 20% discount.
Is any of the work in CeltNuvo & RustModern for sale?
Possibly: Many original pieces are unavailable. Please get in touch if there's a piece you like.
