This is TheRiverKnot.
A CeltNuvo triangular knot.
Usually called a Trefoil knot.
From the Latin meaning:
Three petals

So far I have created 17 individually
distinctive trefoil knots.

Knots that:
~ have three petals
~ are triangular or round
~ have rotational symmetry of 120º
~ are made from one infinite line
~ offer potential for left and right versions

I’m having a lifelong
love affair with this
colour blue.

Although I have only created 17 distinctive
Trifoil knots - I have a catalogueue of
nearly 200 different designs and styles.

I love the numbers, patterns
and nature of Celtic Knots:
Over-under. Over-under.
Over-under.

with different designs.

I work hard to avoid designing traditional Celtic knots. I want to broaden the definition of what a Celtic knot is.

I just love how easily a triangle
can morph into a a circle.

TheShannonKnot is one line
with no beginning or end
with three petals
that crosses itself 12 times.

1 line
3 petals
12 crossings
or 1:3:12

All CeltNuvo knots can be
described this way.

Named, of course, after the broad and majestic Shannon River. The longest river in Ireland.

This knot is one line that crosses itself 36 times. I believe that’s a record for one of my trefoil knots.

These two are among my so-far-all-time favourites. They have an organic feel. It's two slightly different knot designs. Each with irregularities. One line each. Looped together forever.
